You are the knight. You basically just stand in this room all day and let the days go by. After the war ended, there wasn't much for you to do, since you had all the riches you would need for a happy and fulfilling life. But recently, you have craved adventure, just some reason to go out and do something...
Knight: Look at the painting
Wow... such great memories, you and your wife. You remember this painting being made, but the painter only had a massive brush, so could only paint you as squares and rectangles. Such a shame!
Knight: Take the painting
You carefully grab the painting (and the nail) off/out of the wall and store it in your capt... in your inventory. Your inventory only has space for 5 items right now (including the ones you choose to place in your hand/s) , so you think it would be best not to pick everything you come across up.
Knight: Look at sword
The old and the reliable. Made from the wood of a tree that grew in a forest, and smithed from metal mined in a mine. You have slain many beasts with this very sword, its actually what helped you win the war. Well, that is what you like to tell yourself anyways.
Knight: Look at rat
This rat as been here a long time, ever since you started hiding your house. You haven't been able to kill it because you just think its so cute. Though sometimes, it does bite you when you try to sleep on your pallet. You have considered it your one and only true friend, because your wife is your wife, not a friend.
Knight: Name the rat Dennis
You decide to name to name the rat Dennis. And you also decided to write it on, so you will never forget. But you seemed to of also wanted to something else, but you forgot what else you were gonna name him. Jerry-boy or something like that. It seems only one your thoughts can be chosen.
Knight: Pat "The Dennis"
You go over to your newly named companion and give him a pat. Well, its more of a nice soft kick as you lack arms to pat the rat. You don't lack arms, you just have none to pat the rat with, you would rather use them more important needs.
You companionship level goes up to 2! You and Dennis are now Fledging Buddies
Dennis loses 1HP!
Knight: Look at whatever the thing on the floor is
Oh... its your sleeping pallet. This is the thing you sleep on everyday, and you have a very sore back for it. You don't know why you haven't upgraded to a real bed. Maybe its because you don't like the craftsmaster in town. You just have a weird feeling about him.
Knight: Wield the sword
You pick up the sword of from its rack and you equip it. It takes up both of your hands and a space in your inventory! But you don't mind if its Old and Reliable taking up that space.
Knight: Go outside
*Sigh* You leave your house, ending your era of hemititude, and you go outside, the rays of light burning your skin. Outside of the house, you see a few things. A great large tree which you can't see, and a hole. It also seems that Dennis has jumped into your inventory only leaving you with only two spaces left. That selfish brat.
You companionship level goes down to 1! You and Dennis are now Hatching Buddies
Knight: Walk closer to the tree
You at look at the great oak. Wow... such a large tree, one could even say the largest tree, but if one were to say this, they would be wrong. They obviously would of not heard of the Grand Trees of the elven kind. It is a shame you can't go any further because of this pit.
Knight: Walk around the pit
You walk around the pit.
Knight: Climb the Tree and look around
You clamber up the tree until you finally reach the top. You look around, now with a significant height advantage. From here you can see many things. Your house, the duke's keep, the goblin village, the dukedom, and the hole.
Knight: Look at the Duke's Keep
The Duke's Keep. The largest building from here to the capital of the kingdom! Here Duke Yorit lives, along with his immediate family. Here would be most of the wealth that was gained from the war. The Duke is known for his unique ruling style, where he leaves things up for the people to decide. He calls it demolitioncracy The keep is very close, around a few furlongs west.
Knight: Look at goblin village
A click to your south, you see a goblin village. There you see a few things. Obviously, you see many goblins. But aswell, you see two other things of notice. You see a fire, with a small trail of smoke bellowing out. You also see what seems to be a statuette of a goblin god. You remember reading about him. Gotu, the goblin god of gluttony, said to give a wonderful feast to whoever sacrifices a human to him.
Knight: Look into the sky
You peer over at the clouds, it seems that all clouds, are just mirrors and/or ratations of one base cloud. But can you blame Uret, the god of clouds? No! He has to make so many clouds to make so is it fine if he repeats the same cloud over and over again, and it will surely not have an effect on the weather.
Knight: Cease being the Knight for now and be the duke
You are now the Duke Yorit. You rule over you dukedom, which you have named Yorit's Dukedom, because you lack a single creative bone in your entire body. You enjoy leaving your job up to the people and going to war. You reluctantly let your brother and sister live in your keep.
Yorit: Tax the Poor
Oh yes! One of your favorite activities. You think for a long while and decide on a reasonable percentage which allows both the royal court and the citizens benefit and you quickly draft up a document.
==>
Wait, maybe something more like this would be reasonable. Yeah, that seems good.
Yorit: Look at bunny
Ah, yes. The bunny. Bunnster. Bunnmeister. Bunnyboy. Yeah... To be honest, you don't remember ever getting this creature. Probably just another one of those gifts from a breeder in one of the other royal families. It seems to be a florida white rabbit, but you don't know what a florida is.
Yorit: Write CBA on the Bunny
You feel yourself compelled to write 3, what seems to you, meaningless letters on the bunny. The feeling is too strong, and you write it. Well hopefully that made the voice in you head happy. You guess that is its name now.
Yorit: Exit your keep
You decide to leave your keep, exiting into the beauty of your dukedom. But it seems that two things have not gone your way. For one, it seems that a knight has jumped on a tree and making a fool of himself. You can't have anyone from the capital seeing this! And for two, it seems that CBA has jumped into your inventory, leaving you with only 2 item slots left.
You companionship level goes down to -1! You and CBA are now Hatching Antibuddies.
Yorit: Summon Guard, Make Sling, and Insert CBA
You spend 3 of your special points to summon a guard, and you command them to quickly create a sling with the bunny loaded. He quickly follows your instructions and asks "What now master?"
Yorit: FIRE!
PSCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
Knight: Get hit by CBA
As you stand around, you notice a small white thing coming from the keep. As it comes closer, you start to notice its a ...OOOOOOO! OW! That damned bunny hit you. And hopped into your inventory. But you know you can't stay mad at a creature like that!
The Knight loses 2HP!
CBA loses 3HP!
You companionship level goes kinda up to 0.5! You and CBA (which is what you guess what its name is) are now Nesting Buddies.
Knight: Go down tree
You think it best to climb down the tree to make sure you aren't hit by any more stray inventory hogs, or by the slimmest chance, the Duke of this land is worried that your little journey up his oak with make him look foolish.
Knight: Begin a duel with the duke
You decide that enough is enough! You will not stand with this tax-rising, democracy-believing, bunny-launching, weird-looking, and adjective-or-noun-verb duke. You decide to battle right here and now.
The knight attacks the servant for 5 damage! Leaving him at 5 HP.
The servant attacks the knight for 1 damage! Leaving him at 27HP.
Yorit attacks the knight for 0 damage! Leaving him at 27HP.
The knight attacks the servant for 11 damage! Killing the servant!
Knight: Watch Yorit "Yorit: Beg for mercy"
You see your servant quickly be killed by the knight and decide its best not to continue with this battle. You beg for mercy, and the knight allows you to live, but makes it obvious that there will be a few changes around the Dukedom if you want it stay that way.
Knight: Attack the Duke with your animal friends
You pull the old "I can't attack you, but they will" move and send out you animals to attack the duke.
Dennis attacks the duke for 1 damage! Bringing him down to 8HP.
CBA attacks the duke for 0 damage! Leaving him at 8HP.
The duke attacks CBA for 2 damage! Killing CBA!
Dennis attacks the duke for 0 damage! Bringing him down to 8HP.
The Duke runs away!
Knight: Mourn the death of CBA
You tear up at the death of your nesting buddy, CBA. You will now go into a era of mourning. How long will this mourning last? Until you get over his death. A few weeks or so. You decide to construct a simple grave for him and wish death upon Yorit, Duke of Yorit's Dukedom. You'll kill him, if its one of the last things you do. You would wish that the last thing you would do is die.
Yorit: Go back to the keep
You quickly climb up the stairs of your keep. Its good to have that damned rabbit, or bunny, whatever it was, gone. And oh look! Some other royal must of gifted you a present.
Yorit: Open the gift
Oh. That's just wonderful. Just amazing. And oh, it came with a note as well.
"To my brother, Duke Yorit of Yorit's Dukedom,
Hello, Yorit. I heard that you loved by previous gift so I bred another one just for you! I am sorry I can't be there to give it to you personally. You know how it has been up in the capital, every royal dying and whatnot. Anways, love you!
From your brother, Yoran"
Yorit: Name the thing "é"
You quickly mark é with the symbol of é. You wonder if the ink you are using will have any effect on the bunny, if it will stunt its growth, or maybe make her sick. But the chances of this is little to none.
Yorit: Pet é
You go up to the rabbit, bunny? You go up to it and give it a little kick. But like, the kick is nice and doesn't hurt é at all you hope. You feel your companionship go up, you must be like level 3 at least.
Your companionship level goes up to 2! You and é are now Fledging Buddies.
Ok, what's the deal with that, only level 2? That is disrepectful to you and to é. That kick was worth WAY more than +1 companionship level.
Yorit: Stare into the fourth wall
You start to stare at me. Ok, can you like stop it, you aren't gonna get want you want.
You don't stop. Ok, please, we need to get on with the story.
You continue. There has to be a better interaction between you and é if you want to get a high companionship
You persist. Ok, I can increase your level by like 1, maybe 2, if it gets you to stop
Your companionship level goes up to 3! You and é are now Buddies.
Is that good enough? No? Okay, fine, one more level.
Your companionship level goes up to 4! You and é are now Pals.
You stop staring
Yorit: Ceasing being you and be the narrator
You cannot be the narrator. The narrator isn't a vessel like the others are. But even the "host" aren't truely in control. The narrator can change your destiny in any way they want. They have all the power. They like to talk about about themselves in the third person. Maybe just go back to your little adventure and forget they were ever here.
Yorit: Go have some rest
You decide that you need some rest, you quickly climb into your duke sized bed, and try to fall to sleep.
You had a long rest! You regained all SP back!
How battles work: Order is usually person who started the conflict first, then strongest opponent, then the next weaker and so on. Damage is calculated by rolling a 1dn where n is attack of the attacker minus 1dm where m in the defence of the defender. NO NUMBERS ARE FAKED, and they are done with this tool
